Welcome to Asters Cafe and Bakery.
We're a small restaurant in a tiny desert island of a town. 

What to expect

We're located across the street from the Courthouse in Marfa. 215 N Highland Ave, Unit B, Marfa, TX 79843-0171. Order at the counter. We'll bring the food to your table.

We're LGBTQ+ friendly. We also do our best to accommodate disabilities but the reality is the walkway is gravel, and the bathroom is tiny.

We're pet friendly for friendly pets.

Menu

Our menu changes according to the season, ingredients availability, and what we enjoy cooking and baking.

Breakfast

Breakfast includes typical American favorites like fresh baked bagels, eggs, oatmeal, and the like. 

Lunch

Lunch includes sandwiches, salads, burgers, and more. We frequently have specials like our savory bread pudding served on a bed of greens and topped with a poached egg.

Bakery

Our bakery menu changes daily, but typical house favorites are our sourdough bread, bagels, scones, cheese danishes, the gluten and dairy free citrus olive oil cake, the saffron cardamom cake, the Basque cheesecake, the lemon almond cake, chocolate chip cookies, coconut macaroons, oatmeal cookies, and more.

Dietary Restrictions

The menu has things for just about all dietary restrictions and anything can be reasonably modified (even the bread!) . But please understand that this is a tiny space, and all ingredients share the same work area.

Catering, Special Orders, and Requests

The short answer is no, we just don't have the capacity.  If you live in the area, we're happy to make an extra cake, a dozen bagels, or some sandwiches for your party. It's easy to make extra of things we're already making. But we cannot make your wedding cake or cater your offsite event.
